Dino of the Month #1, April 2017: Moabosaurus Utahensis

Moabosaurus utahensis . A new dinosaur from Utah, and the state couldn't be any prouder! And for a state famous for its plethora of paleontological discoveries, Utah seems to think each one will be it's only one, ever. Utahraptor, Utahceratops , and now Moabosaurus utahensis. Utah, you do know there's more naming options, right? $20 on the next Utah discovery to be named Mormonosaurus.  Anyway, this new dinosaur is so interesting! 125 million years old, a measly length (for a titanosaur) of 32 feet. It's "discovery", actually, began over 40 years ago, when BYU geology professor Brooks Britt began examining 5,500 bone fragments recovered from near Arches National Park in Utah.  And according to BYU, these dinosaurs had brains the size of an eggroll, but that doesn't stop little Mo's smile. 😆 Keep on stomping, little guy. (P.S. I apologize for the poor quality of the art. I did it in limited time on a drawing table that loves to not coop...

Welcome to Wheretofore!

Hullo and welcome to Wheretofore! This is my first blog and before now I've hardly even read a blog, but I've been really into the idea of starting one for a while now. Life's a journey, and I'd like to document my thoughts, artwork, and ideas now while I still remember them and I hope this blog will reflect how much I grow as a person throughout its run. As of right now, I am a high school junior, with a fairly certain future in my head. A career in paleontology or archaeology, the University of Chicago somewhere in my college education, 3-4 kids, 3 cats, a dog, a turtle, a mouse (named Basil), and a rat (named Rufus), but we all know life doesn't go as planned, so let's see how close the final product comes to the original design.  Besides paleontology, my lifelong passion, I have a huge love for all things archaeology.
